Costco, baby! The real MVP for fat-burning goals because they have literally everything you could need and it will last you for several weeks (or months!).
Remember, Costco definitely still has not-so-great-for-you options, which is why I’ve put together my staples for when I go. It’s the things I don’t even have to think about; I just grab them because they never let me down and are SO great to have on hand for balancing my blood sugar, supporting my metabolism, and helping my body stay in fat-burning mode during the week.
Rotisserie chicken – right when you get home, take the chicken off the bones and store in a glass container for the week or put right in the freezer for later. Great for salads, wraps, or eating just plain (a little primal kitchen buffalo sauce is my favorite on rotisserie chicken!). You can also buy the rotisserie chicken already taken off the bone.
Mush oats – easy starchy carb and fiber for breakfast. Great for on-the-go and pre-workout!
Chicken nuggets – love the Just Bare chicken nuggets or filets, also the Golden Platter gluten-free chicken nuggets. Great to have on hand to air fry any time for a wrap, salads, or on their own.
Cottage cheese – I always grab Good Culture cottage cheese if I see it! Best tasting cottage cheese and amazing, easy protein.
Chomp sticks or Country Archer beef sticks – easy on-the-go protein without any artificial ingredients or colors!
Pumpkin seeds – love to add these to my cereal, a yogurt bowl, or a salad.
Yogurt – you can go for plain, nonfat Greek yogurt or full fat! A must-have for a yogurt bowl, smoothies, or even using as a sour cream swap for higher protein.
Catalina Crunch – a favorite high-protein, high-fiber cereal! I love to eat this with mixed nuts or dried fruit as well like a trail mix. My go-to travel snack as well.
Tuna – great place to stock up and have an easy protein source on hand. Use for salads or a quick tuna salad!
Mini Perfect bars – love these for easy protein and healthy fat! Super satisfying. They come in full size as well, but I like the mini for a snack.
Rx bars – great option for protein, healthy, fiber, and only whole food ingredients.
Kirkland protein bars – these are high protein, low sugar, and great for on the go
Salad kits – The best easy meal – just add a quick protein like chicken nuggets or rotisserie chicken. I usually eat a whole bag and ½ the dressing packet.
Nut butter – Kirkland peanut or almond butter is not only great tasting but also has amazing ingredients (only nuts and salt!). No added sugar or palm oil. Staple healthy fat to have in the pantry.
Siete tortillas – LOVE these for a blood sugar balancing way to have a wrap or taco and also gluten free if you need that!
Egg bites – great for busy mornings, just throw them in the air fryer.
Frozen berries – freezer staple! Smoothies, yogurt bowls, or oatmeal!
Kevin’s meals – perfect option for an “emergency meal” when meal prep just didn’t happen.
Dave’s Killer Bread – love this for a higher-fiber bread option.
Hummus cups – great for throwing in a lunch bag and munching on some veggies with. Good healthy fat and fiber.
Chicken bone broth – love bone broth to cook rice or pasta with – adds some sneaky protein and is good for gut health. I will use it in soup recipes too when it calls for chicken broth or stock.
Simple Mills crackers – good cracker option that is more blood sugar friendly and also gluten free.
Guac minis – another great thing to throw into a lunch bag. Also great for portion control because healthy fats like avocado can be easy to overeat sometimes.
Aussie bites – one of my favorite snacks for carbs! Super satisfying and the perfect little size. Great pre-workout option too.
Coconut water – a staple to have on hand for mineral mocktails because it’s a great source of potassium.
A question I get asked a lot is what about Sam’s Club? They do have a lot of similar items but not everything which is why I honestly like both. Costco I think has a few more name-brand items on this list, but it is definitely a way busier crowd, so Sam’s Club is really nice sometimes too.
