Metabolism 101: Transform Your Body By Tapping Into Your Own Biology

Think of your metabolism like your body’s operating system – when it’s running smoothly, everything just works. But unlike your phone, you can’t just hit “restore to factory settings.” (Wouldn’t that be nice?) But we walk with you on your path to restoration.

Welcome to myDietitian–where we combine science with real-life strategies to help you unlock your best YOU. You won’t find quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions here, but you will learn about your unique biology and how to create sustainable changes that fit your life.

Think of us as your body’s translation team. We help you decode what your body’s trying to tell you, then create a game plan that gets you the results you want – without turning your life upside down.

Why Traditional Weight Loss Approaches Fail

We recently polled our audience on Instagram and asked them what they struggled with most when it came to losing weight and keeping it off, and 70% of people said it had nothing to do with “knowing what to do” and everything to do with “just not doing it”.

Meaning – most of you generally understands what it takes to lose weight, you just have a hard time being consistent. And so much of that has to do with not really understanding the why behind the protocols and programs you’ve done in the past.

What is “Metabolism”?

Most people think your “metabolism” refers to how fast you burn calories, but it’s actually your body’s master control center – it’s running the whole show! Every high-five you give, every Netflix show you binge-watch, every time you remember where you parked your car – that’s your metabolism at work. It’s not just about weight; it’s about:

  • Converting food into energy
  • Keeping your heart beating
  • Helping you crush that presentation at work
  • Scrolling through Instagram

Your metabolism impacts every single system in the body. If it’s running “slow”, you might experience:

  • weight gain/weight loss resistance
  • low energy
  • carbohydrate intolerance
  • sluggish thyroid
  • sex hormone imbalance
  • infertility
  • muscle loss
  • poor digestion
  • inflammation

Here’s what happens when you have a healthy metabolism:

  • body is able to easily burn fat
  • steady (and good!) energy levels throughout the day
  • no struggle putting on muscle mass
  • good digestion
  • able to eat carbohydrates without weight gain
  • normal menstrual cycles
